Is that the original pulley? I remember seeing a similar, massive fan with the same blade design and pitch but with a smaller pulley. It was in a local market where I am. I actually saw them junk the fan when they erm... "upgraded" to those three bladed chinese made belt driven fans.

My Aunt & Uncles old house had 3 of these fans one in the master bedroom which was the black & brass one and the white & brass one in the kitchen. All were replaced around 2006 & 2012 when the motor started making humming noises
